Welcome

PROGRAMS WE OFFER

Welcome to YWCA Moncton!

YWCA Moncton is for, by, and about women, girls, Two-Spirit and gender diverse people. We transform lives by providing a continuum of critical services and programs that build capacity for lasting positive change by promoting the economic security, wellness, safety, and opportunities for women, girls and their families. Our organization strives to incorporate an environmental approach to social justice that addresses the root causes of inequality, violence, poverty and homelessness.

YWCA Moncton acknowledges that we live, work, and play on the unceded ancestral Homelands of the Mi’kmaq People. We recognize the enduring presence and stewardship of Indigenous Peoples and honour the Treaties that bind us as Treaty People.

In solidarity and respect, we commit to caring for the land, water, and all living beings for the next seven generations. Guided by the principle of Etuaptmumk, Two-Eyed Seeing, and our environmental values, we pledge to see from one eye with the strengths of Indigenous knowledge and from the other with the values of YWCA Moncton to protect biodiversity, and act as responsible caretakers of this land. Today and every day, we strive to walk gently and work collectively toward reconciliation and sustainability.

We acknowledge that Canada’s colonial foundations were built, in part, on the forced and unpaid labour of people of African descent and on systems that continue to perpetuate anti‑Black racism. We honour people of African origin and descent, including the Black communities in our region, whose strength, leadership, and contributions enrich our society.

In alignment with the United Nations’ Second International Decade for People of African Descent (2025–2034), “People of African descent: recognition, justice and development,” we commit to confronting anti‑Black racism and advancing the human rights, dignity, and well‑being of people of African descent, in partnership with Black communities and guided by principles of equity and justice.
